The Lava Flower is a power-up that appears in the Mario series, seen as an upgrade to the Fire Flower.

Appearance
The Lava Flower is a flower that looks and acts very similar to the Fire Flower, only with a few differences. The Lava Flower's stem is black and coal-like, most likely because the stem is burned. The Lava Flower itself is red on the outer layer, orange in middle layer, and yellow in the center layer.
When Obtained[]
When obtained, the player transforms into there Lava Form. There lava form looks almost exactly like there Super Form, except the players overalls turn inferno red. The player gains the ability to temporarily swim in lava, and is immune to fire related enemies. The player also gains the ability to shoot blistering hot coals that leave behind a trail of fire. All-in-all, the Lava Flower is just the advanced form of the Fire Flower.
In Super Mario Bros. Mirages, the functionality of the Lava Flower was altered a little. The Lava Flower can fire lava balls that splash across the ground to create puddles of lava that kills most enemies on contact and the lava balls are also much more powerful than fireballs.

The Lava Flower appears in Super Mario Bros. Mirages as a power-up for Mario, Luigi, Rosalina, and Wario. It's functionality has been slightly altered from the original envisioning of this power-up, instead using lava balls that are stronger than fireballs and can leave puddles of lava on the ground that can kill enemies on contact.
