Goombos (Chibibō in Japan) are smaller kinds of Goombas that dwell in the lands of Sararsaland of Super Mario Land.
They later appear in Super Luigi World: The Big Adventure as enemies that are MUCH more like the Galoombas. They are round and flip over when jumped on. You can then throw them or finish them for good by jumping on them again.
They also appeared in the game Mad, Mad Mario, in a more Mario Land-esque way. In development, they replaced Goombas to make the game more Mario Land-esque.

- Their name originally applied to Galoombas, before they had an official name.
