Super Mario Sunshine ii: Battle of the Frozen Isle (originally FanPlay With: Super Mario Sunshine) is the sequel to Super Mario Sunshine for the Nintendo Wii. It is made by EEA Inc. and was released in October 31, 2029. The game is still set in a tropical island, but this time around, Mario and co. will explore the frozen Isle Granchio. The game features brand new gameplay, featuring lots of Wii Remote use.
Story[]
After the events of Super Mario Sunshine, Mario, Luigi, F.L.U.D.D., Peach, Toadsworth, and the Toads board the Toad Airplane, getting ready to fly back to the Mushroom Kingdom. However, while they are flying in the sky, Bowser's Airship crashes into the plane, jolting Luigi off the plane and out of the sky. The Toad Airplane crashes on a tropical island near Isle Delfino called Isle Granchio which is shaped like a crab, ejecting and sending Mario, Toadsworth, the Toads, and Peach rolling on the ground. Bowser and Bowser Jr. decide to get their revenge on the bros by freezing the island with Jr.'s new Magic Frost Brush, and like the Magic Paint Brush, is also made by Gadd Science Inc. Koopatron turns into Shadow Luigi, and Bowser Jr. turns into Shadow Mario to trick the townspeople into thinking that Luigi AND Mario did all the freezing. Bowser Jr. creates a duplicate of F.L.U.D.D. called S.C.A.R.E. which can shoot goo that looks like water inside of it so Mario will be blamed for it if they see him with F.L.U.D.D. Luigi and Mario are forced to melt away all the ice uisng a pump they find named T.O.R.C.H. that is able to shoot fire. After an amount of time passes, Peach is kidnapped by Bowser Jr. After Mario and Luigi succeed though all the areas in Isle Granchio, and collect 80 Shine Sprites, the Congelato Mountain volcano erupts frozen water, leaving a staircase of ice leading into the volcano. The Mario Bros. enter, and find a one long hard level of ice-water and magma. When the bros find Bowser and Bowser Jr., they are waiting for the right moment for the magma to blast their Ice Airship out of the volcano to make their escape. After both Bowser and Bowser Jr. are defeated, the Ice Airship melts down, revealing a giant Shine Sprite as they fall into the volcano. Mario, Luigi, and Peach jump on and try to travel out of the volcano, but the Shine Sprite halts mid-flight and starts flickering blue. Once it fully turns blue, its eyes narrow into an angry expression and it flies down into the volcano, through the magma, and towards the center of a mechanical-looking room. Mario, Luigi, and Peach dismount as a trapdoor in the floor opens and the Shine flies in. Eerie organ and piano music starts to play as the screens mounted on the walls all show Ludwig von Koopa's face. Ludwig announces "I have come to make an announcement. Mario and Luigi, you have fallen right into my trap. No longer will you "take a pee" on my plots to conquer the kingdom, nor will you on my father's, or my siblings'. For you see, I have a secret weapon. Can you guess what it is?" and summons the Koopatron. Mario battles the Koopatron/Shadow Luigi while Ludwig is seen controlling it using various joysticks. After the Koopatron is busted, Ludwig comes up through the trapdoor, followed by Shadow Mario and Bowser. Shadow Mario transforms Ludwig into Shadow Luigi and all three do battle with the Bros and Peach. Ludwig is not ready to be defeated and blasts a Frozen Bullet Bill at them at top speed. F.L.U.D.D. quickly sees a way to save them and catches the Bullet Bill in his nozzle, clogging him. He unhooks himself from Mario and falls into the volcano. Soon T.O.R.C.H copies F.L.U.D.D., and also falls into the volcano. They blast the Bullet Bill into the volcano, casing another eruption, shooting Bowser, Ludwig, Mario, Luigi, and Bowser Jr. out of the volcano, and into the distance. As Princess Peach lands on Granchio Plaza, the Giant Shine Sprite revived the entire island from the layer of ice. After a reward ceremony, Peach, Toadsworth, and Toads, and F.L.U.D.D., who is revealed to have been thawed out, board the Toad Express and fly away into the distance, heading back to the Mushroom Kingdom. After the credits, there is video of an ice block, containing T.O.R.C.H., shooting out of the volcano and landing in Granchio Plaza, slowly melting. It cuts to an epilogue of Mario and Luigi falling out of the sky screaming and crashing through the roof of Luigi's house. Mario and Luigi, black and sooty from being shot out of the volcano, are knocked out cold from the impact. When they regain consciousness, they celebrate their victory. Then when you next select the save file you beat the game with, you will land in Granchio Plaza. Everything is the same as it was before, except for the large toy box that's right behind you where you land. If you jump in it, you can access the bonus world, Giocattalo Box.

The player can switch from Mario and Luigi any time in the game, by simply pressing the + button. The player will have to switch multiple times in the game, since Mario's F.L.U.D.D. can shoot water and Luigi's T.O.R.C.H. can shoot fire. Yoshi is again ridable in the game by both Mario and Luigi. Eating fruit will again, change Yoshi's color.

Areas[]
Every area has at least two bosses. Every boss (excluding Bowser and Bowser Jr. who are fought together) have a frosty form and a fiery form, which are fought in the same area. The frosty form is usually battled first, and then the harder, fiery form.

Reception[]
The game received good reviews from critics. They said that the game was great, because of the cool new gameplay. They said that having an adventure on a frozen tropical island was a good idea. However, the easiness of the game was criticized, because the game wasn't much of a challenge. Some said that the good gameplay made up for the short experience. IGN gave the game an 8.5/10 and so did Gamespot. EEA Inc. reported that Super Mario Sunshine II was the most fun game they ever developed.
Trivia[]
- Granchio means crab in Italian. It is named that because the island in shaped like a crab.
- This game has five types of hearts. A normal heart gives Luigi or Mario back one unit of health, a heart with "2X" gives Luigi or Mario back two units of health, a Life-Up Heart doubles Luigi or Mario's life meter, and hearts with either a question mark or exclamation point refills Mario or Luigi's life meter up to whichever it lands on. Skill Stop Hearts move between the honeycombs in order while Random Stop Hearts move out of order. The more difficult the world the player is playing in, the faster Mario or Luigi's health will flash.
- The noises Mario makes when he jumps are from Super Mario Galaxy.
- The game includes a short beta demo of EEA Inc.'s game, Super Mario Galaxy 2.5.
- Penguru breaks the Fourth Wall, because once the player unlocks the level, Giocattalo Box, he says, "Could this be the resolution of this so-called video game? I will dearly miss all the fun, exciting adventures". A Pianta too, said something similar to this in the first Sunshine game.
- There was a beta boss called Promethium Pelican that was supposed to appear in Plutonio Liquifier, but was replaced by Fermium Fern.
