The Mike Copy Ability is one of several Copy Abilities available in the Kirby series of games. First appearing in Kirby's Adventure for the NES the ability has in all incarnations been a three-use ability, it often appears alongside other limited use abilities such as Crash and Sleep.

Appearance[]

Mikekirby

The Mike Ability appears on Kirby as a pair of headphones with red covers that each have a star on them. The crown as a part of the design started appearing in Kirby Super Star for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and its debut appearance of the ability simply had Kirby appearing like normal.

When activating the ability, Kirby yells into a megaphone for the first use, a desk microphone for the second use, and a stand microphone for the third use.

Functionality[]

The Mike Ability only serves one major function, that being as a screen nuke which allows the player to easily defeat any enemy on screen and deals considerable damage to Mid-Bosses and Bosses.

Starting from Kirby's Return to Dream Land, Mike only covers the whole screen on its third use, as on its first two uses, it has visible shockwaves to indicate where it hits. It can also destroy blocks.

In Kirby Star Allies, the third use becomes more powerful if used when Kirby has friends around.

Appearances[]

To this day the Mike Copy Ability has appeared in a number of Kirby games roughly as frequently as its fellow Single-use ability, Crash.
