Pi'illo Island is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from the Mario franchise. The stage is based on Pi'illo Island from Mario & Luigi: Dream Team.
Overview
The stage first starts off in front of Pi'illo Castle with the main stage being in front of the castle with walk-off blast ledges. Players can also stand on the second level, above the Zeekeeper Face as well as the arched dome with forms a third level. Grombas can be encountered here. The stage than changes to Pi'illo Blimport which puts the stage on top of a floating blimp. It has bounces when players jump on it and cannot be grabbed onto on the ledges. The stage then transitions to Mushrise Park which is a grassland area that has ledges to grab on. There are floating platforms that go up and down. Brickle, the groundskeeper, is standing on a fountain in the background. The fountain will explode once he falls off causing some knockback to players. The final transition is Mount Pajamaja which features various ledges on the side of the mountain. On occasion, rocks will cascade down and knock into players. Big Massif and Lil' Massif appears at this section. Finally, at any time during the transition, the stage may enter into a the Dream World which resembles the normal locations in the stage but have a dreamy effect to them; making opponents a bit more floaty with stars whirling about. Luigi's face can be found here at times but comprised of stars. He will follow the players with his eyes.

3D Land 2 is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from the Mario franchise. The stage is based on World 2-4 from Super Mario 3D Land.
Overview
Much like the previous 3D Land from Super Smash Bros. for 3DS,, the stage progresses forward as a side-scrolling. It features many rocky platforms that requires players to climb up while running along with the stage. There are several portions where there are Reversible Platforms where stepping on them causes them to go backwards or jumping on them again causes them to go forward. Below the platforms is the blast zone. Players then must climb up a mountain after the Reversible Platforms and back down. There are platforms but jumping on them twice in a row causes them to vanish; plummeting any players down. It then resets itself to the first section with the rocky platforms.

Forest Course is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from the Mario franchise. The stage is based on the Forest Course from Mario Golf: World Tour.
Overview
The main platform floats in the air and appears as a green fairway. Koopa Troopas, Boos, and Shy Guys are in the background of the platform and will fire golf balls forward. In the background is the course along with the golf hole and flag. Clouds pass by but, other than that, the stage isn't active. However, if one of the golfers get a hole in one, it will get stat bonuses to players on the stage.

No change save for the golfers are on the fairway instead the stage and the bonus system is absent.

It has three greenway platforms floating above the main platform much like Battlefield. The goldfers and bonus system is absent.

Luigi's Mansion is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from the Mario franchise. The stage is based off the mansions Gloomy Manor, Haunted Towers, Old Clockworks, Secret Mine, and Treacherous Mansion.
Overview
The stage first appears as Gloomy Manor but highly resembles the traditional Luigi's Mansion from Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. After some time, it will change to Haunted Towers which has a more natural feeling. The next transition is Old Clockworks which has various gears, clocks, and sand in it. The third transition is Secret Mine which features snow and ice within the mansion. The final transition is Treacherous Mansion which has a museum theme and various ghosts flying about.

Overview
The stage travels along the various areas inside Bowser's Body such as (in order):
- The Trash Pit (spongy area where players can bounce of the walls)
- Flame Pipe (belches fire through the stage at intervals)
- Pump Works (a water only section that slows movements)
- Joint Tower (scrolls upwards with players scrambling to climb up)
- Memory Bank (nothing remarkable)
These sections will progress throughout the match in transitions much like Castle Siege.

Paper Mario is a returning stage from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. It contains the same layout and visuals as that game.
Overview This stage is a transforming stage which takes you through various locations throughout the Paper Mario series. It starts out in Hither Thither Hill from Paper Mario: Sticker Star, where gusts of wind may unexpectedly blow fighters to the right of the stage, pushing them towards the blast line. There is a pipe you can bounce on and a swinging cardboard cloud platform as well. Next, the stage transitions to the S.S. Flavion from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, which rocks back and forth as players fight. The Big Blooper from Super Paper Mario might lift the boat up, but not too drastically. Finally, the stage transitions to Bowser's Sky Castle, again from Paper Mario: Sticker Star, where the fight takes place on a giant Bowser head, which rotates around to make it hard for fighters. There are also two platforms to the side as well, in case the head is too tricky to navigate. Afterwards, it goes back to Hither Thither Hill again.

The stage is constantly stuck on Hither Thither Hill, while players fight on a piece on a grassy mound. The original stage lies in the background.

Same as the Ω form, just with three paper-thin platforms above it.

Overview
The stage side scrolls back and forth and, during the battle, players must collect golden coins. Collecting over 100 Golden Coins results in a gold version of that character an giving them increased stats. DK Island is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from the Donkey Kong franchise. The stage is based on DK Island from Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D.
Overview
The stage transitions from various areas within DK Island. It first starts off on a platform with DK barrels attached to the bottom of the main platform with DK Island in the distance. It then descends into the first section is a Jungle that is actually the previous stage Kongo Jungle and functions just like it. It then transitions to the Beach section between becomes a side scrolling stage where pirate ships fire cannons at the players as they run across the beach. The third transitions is a mine cart stage which features three mine carts attached to each other that navigates rails. The fourth and final transition is the Golden Temple which features various banana shaped platforms hanging in the sky.

The stage is situated on a large wooden deck. To the right is an elevated ledge that has a walk off blast line that represents the cabin. In the middle of the ship is the mast which has two platforms for players to jump on but the mast can be broken which can damage players. On occasion, Kremlings, Blast Barrels, and Cannons will appear on the stage and can also damage opponents.

Castle Break-in is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from the Yoshi franchise. The stage is based on the final stage from Yoshi's New Island.
Overview
The stage is centered on a solid platform that has walk off blast lines. Below is a boiling pool of lava. In the background are dark clouds and a raging storm with Baby Bowser, enlarged by magic, lumbering towards. It will occasionally send fireballs from his mouth which deals damage when they hit the stage and knock back. At times, he will will also jump and stomp which stuns grounded players. His third attack is where he charges the platform and slams into it which causes players to fall into the pool of lava and get shot upwards with high damage. You can stop his charging by attack his head right before he hits the stage.

Overview
The stage functions much like Hyrule Castle from Super Smash Bros. 64. It appears very similar to this stage but instead of a whirling tornado, it is a purple vortex which can suck in players and transport them to a different part of the stage or even off the ledges. In addition, the stage will take on a purple tint and Yuga will appear in the background, casting powerful spells onto the stage. After sometime, she will vanish though she can be defeated temporarily if her spells are reflected by via connecting it with an attack.

The main stage platform resembles the roof of Lorule Castle with the castle itself in the background. Yuga will show up occasionally but will not interfere with the match.

Overview
The stage is centered on platforms and tents facing in front of the Clock Tower along with the platform in front of the clock serving as a platform. Below the roofing and tents is the blast zone. The clock will progress and, on occasion, the clock will tremble and cause players to slip. There is a day and night cycle and each day is signified with a title that says "Day 2" and so on. As the day progresses, the Moon comes closer until the night of the final day which causes it to crash; dealing high damage and then transporting it to the First Day. It typically takes 4 minutes to get to this portion which each day lasting 1:33. Skull Kid arrives just prior to the Moon crashing.

Overview
The stage goes through various segments but the platform largely remains the same mechanically. The stage itself is about the size of Final Destination and will hover above the map of Hyrule. At certain times, it will focus on a part of Hyrule which will change the nature of the stage. At the start, the stage appears to be made of white rocks from a holy temple. In the center is the Triforce.
- Death Mountain: The stage becomes rocky and jagged in its deign.
- Lost Woods: The stage becomes green and verdant with grass and vines.
- Kakariko Village: The stage has fence posts and green pastures on it.
- Lake Hylia: There are puddles on the stage with river weeds on it.
- Desert Of Mystery: The stage becomes sandy with wind blowing in the background.
At times, Agahnim will appear and cause the stage be castes into the Dark World which alters the map and platform. When it happens, the platform becomes made of dark gray rocks from an unholy temple.

Overview
The stage is set up against a stage of ice that is poised high over a frozen canyon. To the left is the ledge and to the right is a crashed space craft that has several platforms pushing out from the wreckage. The main stage portion is rather slippery but has piece of scrape metal that allows for better traction. The winds will also blow cold air that may freeze opponents and there can be blinding snowstorms that obscure players vision.

Overview
The stage side scrolls through the tunnels of SR388 while it is self destructing from the collapse of the space station. Players must fight against each other while fending off wildlife and detonations. Wild life encountered consists of:

X Parasites will take over players can cause them damage. In Team Battles, it negates Friendly Fire. The stage will loop after nearing the end which consist of the Queen Metroid.

Overview
Players fight on a floating rocky ball with various rock protrusions and metallic objects. At intervals, the Space Pirate Kraid rises out from the plasma and roars before knocking the stage; causing it to rotate and a mad scramble over the ruinous terrain.

Overview
The stage is composed of a single floating platform that zooms around the battle that is raging on Katina. Cornerian and Venomian fighters engage in dog fights all around while the main command lies on the ground. In the distance in the Flying Saucer which will slowly approach. Once it reaches it's destination over the headquarters, it will release a powerful laser that damages the building and also the players on the field from an explosion. However, it must be charged before it can release another powerful blast. This stage features Codecs between for the Star Fox characters.

Overview
The stage is comprised of a single platform and follows Mega Latios and Mega Latias as it soars over Hoenn. It doesn't set down in any particular area but flies over places such as Mt. Pyre, Sootopolis, and other Hoenn landmarks. On occassion, it will enter into a black cloud which causes a Legendary Pokemon such as Thundurus, Articuno, Zapdos, and others to appear and attack the enemy with an attack.

Overview
The stage is centered on a platform that is lowered in between the spiraling staircase in the Tower of Mastery. The platform is composed of an ancient looking rock that was cut from the very same rock the tower was cut from. It starts at the top of the tower and slowly works it's way to the bottom and then back again in a loop. As it descends downwards, a number of Pokemon appear that are able to Mega Evolve and will perform an attack or any ability. The confirmed Pokemon include:

Overview
Origin Peak is fought on the grounds of Origin Peak as fire dances around in the background. The stage is first a walk off blast lines type stage but soon takes off to the sky and flies around Origin Peak. Fire seers across the stage as lighting flashes in the background. Grima appears in the background and knocks into the stage; throwing players up into the air and onto his back. They fight along it horizontally so it peaks up in the middle where the spin is. Several times, Grima will buck the players off and they have to get back on. He will finally buck them off and they will land back onto Origin Peak.

My Castle changes every match in both composition and design. The battle is fought on the ramparts of the castle while an enemy army is attacking. Overview
Tazmily Village is a quiet small village. The stage has walk off blast lines and three houses in which players can jump onto the roofs. Various villagers such as Flint, Mapson, Butch, Duster, and Thomas. As the match progress, the stage begins to upgrade replacing the dirt roads with stone roads and even tearing down houses and then building fancier and newer houses. During this time, the house will be demolished which causes the players to slowly descend down while standing on it and then built again in which they rise back up.

Greenhouse is a new stage in Super Smash Bros. 5 Handheld Version from the Game and Watch universe. This stage is based on the Game and Watch game Greenhouse.
Overview
The stage is set on thick vines growing around the floor. There are some springy platforms that will bounce players to the top layer, where there are flower platforms on the left and right hand sides. Every so often bugs and worms will appear and attempt to eat away the flowers which will limit the stage space. Players can fight off these bugs, but they also have to watch out for Stanley the Bugman with his exterminator, which blasts gusts of wind. If players are on the bottom level they are pushed to the top, if they are on the top level they are pushed rather close to the blast line.
Ω Version
Just a simple vine stretching across the same scenery as the regular stage. Neither Stanley nor the bugs appear.
A Version
Same as the Ω Version, just with three flower-box platforms above it.

Overview
The stage is a floating platform that zooms about the space within Face Raiders. At intervals, bodies that have heads with pictures found in your handheld system will appear and attacks players. If there aren't any pictures used for the original Face Raiders, it will use pre-loaded faces or those of Nintendo personal. Players can attack these faces and knock them down.

Overview
The stage has two distinct stumps that players can fight on. In between the stumps are water areas that can cause opponents to drown though Blue Pikmin will at times build an additional island closer to the water from found objects. It will also occasionally rain which will causes the island to be washed away and raise the water level. AT times, the Water Wraith will also appear and try to flatten opponents as it steamrolls across the stage.

Tilt City is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from Wii Fit franchise. The stage is based off one of the modes for Wii Fit U, Tilt City.
Overview
The stage is composed of a circular platform that tilts to the right, to the left, up and even down. When it tilts tot he right, run to the left to avoid sliding down to your doom. Same goes for when it turns to the left but turn to the right! When this happens, it is impossible to grab a hold of the ledge. When it tilts backwards, players are forced to fight on the rim which also doesn't have ledges. When it tilts downwards, it can dump you down into the bottom of the screen so jump high up to reach the top of the rim. On occasion, tilt balls will appear and may knock you for damage!

Overview
The stage appears on raised platforms with three distinct "islands". The background of the platforms contains various homes and businesses within the Colony. All sides have grab-able ledges. During various times of the match, Metal Face and the Mechonis will invade the stage and wreck havoc in the background. Metal Face does not appear to be a stage hazard and is only seen in the background; attacking civilians. After some time, the Mechonis will leave.

Overview
The main stage is in front of the various cut out characters. An unknown assailant will shoot at the cardboard cutouts. It does high damage it the shot connects with the opponent. If it hits the cardboard cutout, it will knockback backwards or cause it to fall forward which can bury opponents. Players can jump on top of the characters while they remain un-shot. They will be replaced in due time.

Overview

Overview
The stage transitions between the Venus Lighthouse, Mars Lighthouse, Jupiter Lighthouse, and the Mercury Lighthouse. The stage itself consist of a the lighthouse top that has ledges. There are three floating platforms and then a pit that has energy that corresponds to the color of the Psyenergy. Each lighthouse has different properties:
- Jupiter: The sphere is purple and will cause dark clouds to form and high winds will blow across the surface.
- Mercury: The sphere is blue and will cause rain to pelt the stage and cause flooding.
- Mars: The sphere is red and will cause fires to blaze on the stage which deals fire damage.
- Venus: The sphere is yellow and will cause the tower to shake violently which can bury grounded opponents at times.

Overview
The stage will cycle through various sub-games found within the game Rhythm Heaven and consists of remixed versions. The first will always be:
- The Clappy Trio (When they hit on the time with the music, it creases the damage they do if it connects to a player)
Followed by that, it will cycle between any of the following:
- The ★ Bon Odori (the farthest girl on the right claps on beat and if all the other girls claps; it maximizes damage done)
- Space Dance (the robots dance together and, if the timing is perfect, it maximizes the damage when they punch)
- Show Time (if it hit sperfect on beat, the penguin or the cat does more damage)
- Air Batter (if it hits on beat, the bat acts like a Home-Run Bat)

Overview
The stage itself consists of the BARC counter which has random products placed on the counter. The counter itself is rather flat save for the cash register which can be jumped on top of. Dogs and cats can be see walking low to the bottom underneath the counter or try to stand up against it. The stage has ledges. Here are a list of items found within the stage:
- Shampoo: When jumped/stepped on, it produces bubbles which can trap players and cause them to float upwards.
Squeaky Toy: When jumped/stepped on, it causes the player to bound high into the air. Hairbrush: When jumped/stepped on, it causes hitstun but doesn't cause any damage. Toy Ball: It can be hit and launched at opponents. It is roughly the size of Bowser.

Overview
The stage consist of the border with the ledges being outside the border. Players can get trapped under the stage. Niiki will draw various pictures and messages that have a number of properties such as Nikki will write "Speed up P1!" which causes "Player 1" to get a stat boost or "Power up, P5!" which causes "Player 5" to get a strength boost. In addition, she will write "Slip up, P3" which causes "Player 3" to trip. She will also draws various images that appear to function much like Pictochat 2 from Super Smash Bros. for 3DS.

Steel Diver is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from the Steel Diver franchise. The stage is based on the game Steel Diver.
Overview
It is a side scrolling stage where players fight on a single Steel Diver submarine underwater. While not a huge change, players are a bit slower and jump higher than normal. The camera will sometimes zoom out and show an enemy submarine who will try to blow up the one they are standing on. Sometimes the enemy succeeds resulting in the players having to jump over to the other submarine. The explosion can actually do damage. The Steel Diver will make its way from shallow waters to coral reefs to sunken ship graves and underwater caves before lopping back.

Overview
The stage consists of two transitions: an overhead portion and a side portion. It first starts off overhead with a stage overlooking portions of the For the Frog the Bell Tolls. The stage then glows brightly and players are transported into a side perspective portion. It has walk off blast lines with two tiers. There is a second floating their with ladders on either side. Enemies can be encountered here. Once this is finished, it returns back to the overhead portion.

Fossil Stadium is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from the Fossil Fighters franchise. The stage is based on the Fossil Stadium from Fossil Fighters.
Overview
Players fight on a single platform that is elevated into the air and appears to have rocky terrain. The background is a stadium full of many people. At certain portions of the match, Vivosaurs (dinosaur like creatures) will enter an attack players on the stage. Some of them do different attacks and effects. The Vivosaurs always come out two at a time and they will even attack each other.
Confirmed Vivosaurs:
- Compso: A small Vivosaur that will bite at opponents on the stage.
- Aeros: Will deliver a powerful blast of air and will bite anyone who gets close.
- Toba: Will attack anyone with its large tail as well as toss large pearls forward.
- Tsintao: Will charge forth and strike anyone close by with its horn.
- Dimetro: Will bite anyone who comes close and deliver powerful fire damage.
- Tricera: Will charge forward and slam its horns into players nearby.
- Igno: Rare Vivosaur. It will appear and deliver a volcanic attack that deals heavy fire damage.
- Frigi: Rare Vivosaur. Appears and stomps on the ground; causing anyone to become frozen.
- Zongazonga: Rare Vivosaur. It will begin to glow purple and anyone caught in it’s aura is a immediate KO.

Overview
The stage has two phases: the studio and then fashion show. The stage itself is set on a fancy single stage platform with the background consisting of the model. Various clothes will float up in a bubble from the bottom and popping them will cause the model to don on that article of clothing. If he or she likes it, they will appear happy but will appear sad if they don't like it. If they don't have an opinion, they just shrug. A countdown appears indicating when the Fashion Show will start and, once it starts, the model will begin walking down the runway. If the model gets many cheers and flashes from the camera, it's good and everyone who contributed to clothing the model gets a stat boost. However, if she is received poorly, they get a stat decrease. It then repeats itself.

Emerald Coast is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. The stage is based off of Emerald Coast found in Sonic Generations.
Overview
The stage is over the ocean though players cannot drown but simply fall to the bottom of the stage. The right side is a walk off blast line while the left side has a ledge. In between is a wooden bridge. The two stage portions have a beach terrain with the one on right having palm trees that can support only one player before they drop them. The left side has an umbrella that has the same properties. The background has a loop made of sea rock that comes out from the water. At random intervals, the killer whale will burst out from the bottom and break apart the wooden bridge that connects both islands; causing high damage and knockback. After it returns back to the ocean, the bridge will be out for some time before being repaired magically.

Pac-Maze 2 is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from Pac-Man franchise. The stage is based off the typical Pac-Maze found within the games.
Overview
This version of the stage is much longer with a more zoomed out look compared to the previous incarnation. In addition, the layout will change every time the match starts. Characters also wrap around the stage if they go off to the side thus making the stage only capable of bottom and top KOs. The ghosts are invincible to damage but can be made vulnerable by collecting Super Pellets. KOing them adds a kill count to the players tally.

Land of the Livid Dead is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from Rayman franchise.
Overview
The stage is based off the portion of Big Mama. It has two platforms that has high walls that are walk off blast lines. The two platforms are separated by a pit which can KO opponents. Big Mama will appear at intervals and her arms can be used as platforms though her sliding jewelry can cause damage to players.
Ω Version
It appears much like the default but without the walk off blast line sections and the gap in the middle is closed off to form a single platform. Big Mama is still visible in the background.

Caldisla is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from the Bravely Default franchise. The stage is based on the city of Caldisla from Bravely Default.
Overview
The stage is set on the streets of Caldisla overlooking the bay. The level has four tiers, the street which has walk off blast lines, the top of shops, shops roofs, and a second walkway. Not every shop gets to the third tier with some shops being only two stories tall. The fourth tier descends down to the bottom tier and can be reached by walking up it from the street level. Civilians will be going about their day but at several times, the Sky Knights will appear and the Black Mage Omnas will begin burning houses which deals damage. After the Sky Knights leaves, the civilians put out the fires.
Ω Version
The stage consist of a stage platform that resembles the Caldisla street. In the background is the cityscape. The Sky Knights will sometimes appear and burn down the houses.
A Version
The stage consist of a stage platform and 3 floating Battlefield platforms that resembles the Caldisla street. In the background is the cityscape. The Sky Knights will sometimes appear and burn down the houses.

Pong is a new stage to the Super Smash Bros 5 Handheld version from Pong franchise. It is a stage that does not have a confirmed representative from a 3rd party franchise.
Overview The stage is fought on the bottom with the dividing line occurring in the background. The paddles on either side will knock the ball back and forth to each other. The ball will do damage and knockback. The paddles will also do knockback when they hit the opponents.
Ω Version The Omega version is a long floating platform with the pong ball and paddles in the background.
