Mario Kart: Ultra Frenzy (called Mario Kart 9 in some countries) is a an upcoming racing game from the Mario Kart franchise for the Nintendo Pyramid console, developed by Nintendo EAD with MarioKartWiiYesMarioKart8DeluxeNo Inc. assisting. It is the ninth game in the Mario Kart franchise, unlike many other games, this game is physical only, only loadable on a Nintendo Pyramid optical disc.

Many new features added to Mario Kart: Ultra Frenzy include an 18-racer field, and Double Dash mode, which brings back the two players in one kart feature from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! Many more features return from previous games return as well, such as antigravity mechanics, and ATVs from Mario Kart 8, gliding and underwater driving mechanics, and kart customization from Mario Kart 7, Bikes from Mario Kart Wii, Mission Mode, emblems, from Mario Kart DS, and rubber-banding Ai from Mario Kart 64.

Gameplay[]

The game maintains the traditional elements of previous Mario Kart games, however there is many changes, the item you get once again depends on your place, and not your distance like Mario Kart 8, you can also now collect a maximum of 20 coins at a time.

For the first time in Mario Kart, there is now 18-racer fields, this is exclusive to Grand-Prix and Versus mode, however.

ATV's, and Anti-gravity mechanics from Mario Kart 8 return in this game, however, there is no longer spin boosts, Ultra Mini-Turbos are also in this game.

Smart-steering, and auto-accelerate are brought back from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Kart customization, gliding, and underwater mechanics return from Mario Kart 7.

Tricks, a stopwatch in races (which has not appeared since Mario Kart Wii), and the ability to look back also return in this game,

Two types of bikes return: standard bikes, that perform regular drifts, and sport bikes, that lean toward the inside of the turn instead of drifting. While leaning instead of drifting, sport bikes lose less speed, but have a lower turning capability with respect to outside drifting vehicles, they can once again do wheelies like they did in Mario Kart Wii.

Mission Mode, and emblems return from Mario Kart DS and remain the same, however, Mission Mode is now called "Story Mode", and all the missions are split into "worlds".

Another thing that returns in this game is speedometers, something that has not been seen since Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

Online Multiplayer has a couple changes, if a person were doing a Battle match online, the winner of a given match decides what the next match mode is, unlike Mario Kart 8 Deluxe where you can only pick through 4 tracks for the next race, you can pick any tracks that will randomly get picked, there is also now 18 racers at a time.

Game Modes[]

Grand Prix[]

Grand Prix in this game gets one big change, there is now 18 racers on the track instead of 12, other than that, Grand Prix behaves the same as it always had. The point spread system is similar to Mario Kart Wii.

The ranking system returns to the Mario Kart Wii style ranking system, with the ranks from best to worst being: E, D, C, B, A, *,**, and ***.

Like the other Mario Kart games, 50cc, 100cc, and 150cc are available from the start, however, players can unlock Mirror mode by winning all 150cc cups, you can also earn 200cc by winning all the Mirrors cups, finally, you can earn a brand new 250cc mode by winning all 200cc cups.
