New Super Mario Bros Extreme is a game developed by Nintendo and Beancity Studios. The Beta was released in late 2024 for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Pro.

Unlocked from the start, he is a good all-rounder and easy for beginners to use.
Luigi[]
Unlocked from the start, he has a high jump with bad traction, but outside of that, he is pretty similar to Mario.
Toad[]
Unlocked from the start, he excels in strength, but is bad in everything else.
Wario[]
Unlocked by completing World A, he has good strength and can shoulder dash.
Waluigi[]
Unlocked by completing World B, he has good speed and a strong projectile that goes in an arc, (a tennis ball) that he can aim by tilting the right joystick.
Peach[]
Unlocked by completing W8, she has decent speed and can float in the air.

W1 - Grassy Hills[]
W1 has a grass theme, and is mostly made up of tutorials and tests.
Difficulty: Easy
W1 Leads to W2.
W2 - Pasta Desert[]
W2 has a desert theme, and is mostly made up of easy to moderate test levels.
Difficulty: Moderate
W2 leads to W3, and has a secret exit leading to WA.
WA - Autumn Forest[]
WA has an autumn theme, and is made up of normal-difficulty levels.
Difficulty: Normal
WA leads to W4.
W3 - Ice Cream Plateau[]
W3 has a snow theme, and is made up of normal-difficulty levels.
Difficulty: Normal
W3 leads to W4.
W4 - Spinach Forest[]
W4 has a forest theme, and is made up of normal-difficulty levels.

W4 leads to W5.
W5 - Oatmeal Beach[]
W5 has a beach theme, and is made up of medium-difficulty levels.

W5 leads to W6, and has a secret exit leading to WB.
WB - Shy Guy City[]
WB has a city theme, and is made up of medium-difficulty levels.

W6 - Chocolate Mountain[]
The first half of W6 has a mountain theme, while the other is set in the sky.
