Sabrina is a Gym Leader for the Kanto region in the Pokémon series. Officially, she is supposed to be the sixth Leader you encounter; however, some Nintendo material (including the Red/Blue official Nintendo Power Player's Guide) placed her fifth, and in the anime, Ash Ketchum challenged her fourth. Either way, she gives you the Marsh Badge upon her defeat, as well as the following TM:
- Generation 1: TM 46
- FireRed/LeafGreen: TM 04
- HeartGold/SoulSilver: TM 48
- Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee: TM 33 (also Calm Mind)
She often has the appearance of a dominatrix, wearing skintight clothes, bodysuits, and thigh-high boots in the anime, and even going so far as to carry a whip in Generation 1. It doesn't help that in Generation 1, Psychic was considered the most broken type in the game, and she appears to have been developed with some knowledge of this. At least one game has even flubbed her Gym Leader title into "The MISTRESS of Psychic Pokémon".
The Pokémon Adventures manga made her an outright villain, working for Team Rocket. Her claim in the games that she dislikes fighting is at odds with this, however. Perhaps for this reason, in HG/SS and Black 2/White 2, she is given a more casual appearance. In B2/W2, she is a movie star for PokéStar Studios, where she primarily plays Queen Bellelba, the villain of the Mystery Doors of the Magical Land series. The anime has her split into two girls and acting outright malicious towards people, though a Haunter allegedly belonging to Ash eventually breaks this.
Her signature Pokémon is Alakazam and its evolutions.
Fanon appearances[]
Police Academy series[]
Sabrina is also a character from the Police Academy Series.
History[]
She was gifted as a psychic from a young age and praised for her skills, she was a very powerful girl, and at sixteen she became the leader of the Saffron City Psychic Gym which soon became the city's official Gym. She was defeated by many important trainers including Red, Gold, Kris, and Professor Gary Oak.
When she was still a young woman of twenty-one, she met and fell in love with a strapping young man Leonardo. The two had a whirlwind romance and she stopped caring about her gym and fell in love with him. But when they got engaged, he was arrested for being an administrator of Team Rocket, and she had no idea, so she left him.
Heartbroken, she couldn't focus on her gym and she gave it up, and she left and wandered the world for a few years before returning to Saffron City to use her Psychic abilities as a cleric fortune teller and healing the sick.
