White Rose Red is an upcoming video game for the Wii U that is being developed by Amuza. It is the first installment in the White Rose Red series, a spin-off series of the novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
The game takes place after the death of Alice Kingsleigh (the Alice from the 2010 Disney film) and follows her sister, Florence Kingsleigh, who delves into Wonderland to help deal with the pain of losing her sister. Florence travels across Wonderland, collecting Wonders to escape from the land and keep back the Beasts of Wonderland who will hunt her down.
Story[]
The game opens with Florence out the front of Cyfurr Graveyard, attending her sisters funeral. She walks into the graveyard and towards the ceremony and watches as she is taken into the ground.
After the funeral, Florence is in her apartment in an emotional wreck. After a couple days of griefing over her sister, Florence decides to leave her apartment for the first time. She takes a tablet of her anti-depressants and walks out her apartment to see nothing but dirt, and the building falling down the rabbit hole. Florence jumps into the abyss wondering where she will come out at.
After heading down the rabbit role, Florence awakens in a dark wood surrounded by wilting flowers, cobblestone paths and twisted fences. She explores through the woods until the she notices everything slowly becoming much darker and grim. After looking around, a strange beast appears before her and Florence runs as fast as she can to get away from the beast. Once she has lost sight of the beast, she notices a large beacon of light not too far away and chases it down. Florence walks into the beacon of light and comes out of it noticing the world has returned to its colorful, cheery way it was before.
Florence heads further down the beaten path and finds a tea party set up in with a cottage nearby. Sitting at the table is a strange man and a hare. The man with the big hat instantly recognises Florence, thinking it is Alice, much to the dismay when he learns it truly is just her sister.
The man, who calls himself the Mad Hatter introduces himself and his friend the March Hare. Over their tea party, the Mad Hatter tells Florence about Wonderland and the strange things that have been occuring. He explains that the beacons of light, known as Wonders seem to be some force that can resist the powers of the dark taking over Wonderland, and that collecting these can help save Florence from the beasts that tend to roam when it's dark and give her time to find a way out of the forsaken land.
Florence then takes off deeper into Wonderland to collect the Wonders and find a way out of Wonderland.
Gameplay[]
White Rose Red is a combination of survival horror and collectathon styles of gameplay. The player will traverse across Wonderland to collect Wonders, however if they take too long between collecting them, Wonderland will turn a little twisted and the Beasts of Wonderland will come to hunt Florence down.
The game also has elements of 3D platformers, being notably heavy on platforming to get to the Wonders. The player traverses across Wonderland which is a singular large open world rather than being broken up into numerous parts which can all be accessed through a overworld. Because of this there is also the fast travel function to quickly warp anywhere on the map.

- The title White Rose Red is used as a reference to the eventual loss of innocence of the main character, Florence Kingsleigh.
