Super Mario Discovery is a 2D side-scrolling platformer released for Nintendo Switch on ??/??/??.

Plot

It was a normal day in the Mushroom Kingdom: Mario and Luigi where hanging around in the castle, eating some cake Princess Peach made them while Peach herself was sitting on her throne. Suddenly, however, they get a message from a Toad, who claimed this was an emergency. The letter read:

"Dear Princess Peach and Co. It's me, Queen Elisa, and I've sent out this note as I was being held captive by some Koopas. Your old enemy, Bowser, has kidnapped me and my 4 sisters and is currently trying to take them all over with his minions. I'm being held captive by a few Koopalings, whom are rather loud and, quite frankly, annoying. Please, you must save us! ~Queen Elisa"

Immediately after reading the note, the Plumbers knew what they had to do. They hoped up and grabbed a map that came with the note, then ran off to save the 5 kingdoms from Bowser.

Gameplay

Super Mario Discovery is a 2D platformer similar in controls to Super Mario World, where the player can jump, duck, and spin-jump. There are two big differences though: 1) There are about 7 characters to play as, each with there own abilities and quirks. And 2) the levels are more larger than normal, encouraging exploring the area.

There are 6 Worlds in total: The Nearby Kingdom, the Kreepy Kingdom, the Sweets Kingdom, the Seaside Kingdom, the Combat kingdom, and Bowser's Castle. Each world has 6 levels each, with 4 being normal, 1 being a race level, and 1 being the Boss level. You must beat all 6 levels in each world to progress. There is also a special Challenge World after you 100% the game that is made up of past levels from the Mario series.

Playable

Character	Name	Description
	Mario	Mario is the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, defeating Bowser for over 30 years. Now, however, he's traveling to 5 brand new kingdoms in order to stop his nemesis once again. Mario is an all-around character, and is usually the best choice for beginners.
	Luigi	Luigi is the brother of Mario, lending the red plumber a hand in battle many different times and together saving the Mushroom Kingdom. He's usually seen as player 2. Luigi is the highest jumper in the game, but has a pretty weak ground pound.
	Toad	This Red Toad is just one of the many Toads that are in the Mushroom Kingdom. After the bros find him searching for Princess Ectoma, they let the little guy join them. Toad is the fastest character in the game, but has the worst jump.
	Yoshi	Yoshi is a green dinosaur that has added Mario and co. many times. Here, the Bros meet with him while he's searching for Queen Butterscotch, and he decides to aid them. Yoshi has a special Flutter Jump move that allows him to float for a bit.
	Wario	Wario is usually a rival of Mario, and is more often than not a jerk. This time, however, he decided to aid the Bros while looking for Queen Selena in order to gain some cash. Wario not only is strong, he also has a shoulder dash move. He's really slow, however.
	Princess Peach	Princess Peach is the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, usually being kidnapped. This time, however, she joins the bros in the combat kingdom to help save Queen Isabel. Peach has a special glide move, which lets her glide in mid-air.
	Queen Elisa	Queen Elisa is an old friend of Peach that, at first, was kidnapped by Bowser. If you manage to beat the game, however, you'll get to unlock her as a playable character. Queen Elisa can do a three hit combo with her cane on enemies.

	Queen Elisa	Queen Elisa is the queen of the Nearby Kingdom, a kingdom that's...well...nearby the MK. She was an old friend of Peach and has now been kidnapped by Bowser. She is a kind, social queen who loves to relax.
	Queen Ectoma	Queen Ectoma is the Queen of the Kreepy Kingdom, a kingdom full of ghouls. She is mostly shy because of her odd appearance and is the only sister with supernatural powers due to an incident she doesn't wanna talk about.
	Queen Butterscotch	Queen Butterscotch is the queen of the Sweets Kingdom, a kingdom made of sweets. She is the youngest of the 5, only 14, and is the most hyperactive and child-like of them. Fun fact: her real name is Bella.
	Queen Selena	Queen Selena is the Queen of the Seaside Kingdom, known for being underwater. She is quite flirty and likes a good party, and secretly has a tiny crush on Luigi. Her Mermaid appearance is only a costume, by the way.
	Queen Isabela	Queen Isabela is the queen of the Combat Kingdom, a kingdom...well, you know. She is VERY strict and a no-nonsense person, and trains every second she gets. She will not back down from anything until she does it.

Bosses

Character	Name	Description
	Koopalings	The Koopalings are Bowser's "kids" who were put in charge of making sure Mario doesn't rescue Queen Elisa. They attack you one at a time in there boss fight, and you need to take them all out. Luckly, each one goes down in 1 hit.
	King Boo	King Boo is the king of all the Boos Mario has faced. He was put in charge of keeping Queen Ectoma kidnapped. In the fight, he's invincible, but you can hurt him via shining some light on him then jumping on his head.
	Mouser	Mouser is a bomb loving mouse who was put in charge of watching over Queen Butterscotch. He does what you'd expect: throw bombs. He has many kinds of bombs, but you need to kick normal bombs back at him to beat him.
	Boom Boom & Pom Pom	Boom Boom and Pom Pom are twins set in charge of keeping Queen Selena away from Mario. They both have 4 HP each, and both switch out when one is hit. Boom Boom hits hard while Pom Pom throws stuff.
	King Bob-Omb	King Bob-Omb is the king of Bob-Ombs who was set to watch over Queen Isabel. He usually jumps around and chucks bombs at you, but when he does his self destruct attack, you need to hit him while he's cooling down.
	King Bowser Koopa	King Bowser is the man behind it all and is planning to take over every Kingdom, including the Mushroom Kingdom. In the first phase of his fight, you need to just get over him to the axe 3 times to beat him. However, after the third time...
	Dry Bowser	...He comes back as Dry Bowser. Now, in this phase, you must dodge his attacks and jump on him when he's roaring. Do this 8 times and he crumbles while his Castle falls apart. Then, once you escape, you've won.

Power-Ups

Normal

	Mushroom	This classic will make the player grow once consuming it, and gives him an extra hit point.
	Fire Flower	This will grant the player the power to shoot Fireballs and give him an extra hitpoint.
	1-up	This will give the player an extra life apon collecting it. It is very rare.
	Starman	This will give the player Brief invincability.
	Super leaf	This will give the player the ability to fly and a spin attack.
	Hammer Suit	This allows the player to throw Hammers in an arc.
	Golden Mushroom	Allows the player to turn golden and make them heavier.

Character Power-Ups

	Mega Mushroom	This will allow Mario to grow huge and become nearly invincible. He can also destroy blocks and other things in his way. This can only be used as Mario.
	Thunder-Bolt	This will allow Luigi to gain Blue and Yellow overalls and shoot lightning, as well as electrify water and be extra effective on machines. This can only be used by Luigi.
	Propeller Mushroom	This will allow Toad to gain a jumpsuit and spin into the air, then glide safely downwards. He can also use a drill move to attack enemies. This can only be used by Toad.
	Ice Flower	This will allow Yoshi to run over water via freezing it and also throw ice balls which freezes enemies apon contact. This can only be used by Yoshi.
	Metal Crate	This will allow Wario to become fully Metal, being able to hit extra hard, walk through fire, and sink to the bottom of water with ease. This can only be used by Wario.
	Tirnip	This will allow Peach to pluck Tirnips (and sometimes bombs) from out out of the ground and throw them at enemies. This can only be used by Peach.
	Magic Staff	This will allow Queen Elisa to shoot tiny stars that home in on enemies. She will also be able to light up darker areas. This can only be used by Queen Elisa.
