Pupitars are a Rock/Ground type Pokémon species that resembles a pupa; a pupa for a Larvitar. Pupitar are somewhat large Pokémon that are encased inside a thick shell made of steel-like rock. Since arms and legs are developing inside the shell, Pupitar are capable of venting pressurized gas to propel themselves around. They evolve into a Tyranitar at level 55, and are the post-evolution of a Larvitar. It is a Generation II Pokémon.
