Super Mario Neptune is a 2-D Sidescroller/3-D Platformer for the Neptune Z and 3DS made by Moonlight Studios. It will involve Mario and some friends travelling to the Neptune Dimension to try and stop a new threat.

Mario is back! But this time, he is helping Bowser Jr. save his father. Armed with new power ups and new rideable characters, Mario and friends are ready to battle the evil power of Fawful and Dimentio in the new location of the Neptune Dimension. Mario must jump back into the paintings and solve new puzzles and defeat new enemies to save the power stars and return them back to the Mushroom Kingdom. Join in Mario's Adventure on 18th May 2014.
Aquarius Description[]
The Hero of the Mushroom Kingdom is ready to face a new adventure. Entering the new land of the Neptune Dimension, Mario must save his worst enemy from the force of Fawful and Dimentio. The Bolt Flower and the Random Flower are two new power-ups that Mario needs to conquer them. On 18th May 2014, Mario must enter the paintings and conquer his foes. Join him if you dare.
Plot[]
Mario and Peach are walking through the Mushroom Kingdom, when Bowser Jr drops down from his Airship. Bowser Jr tells him that Fawful and Dimentio have stolen all the Power Stars and kidnapped his father, Bowser. Mario offers to help him, as long as he brings his friends along. He then tells them that they have also kidnapped his friends aswell. Mario and Peach then offer there assistance to Bowser Jr.
Gameplay[]
The Gameplay is very similar to 2D and 3D platformers from previous Mario Games. The levels involved in the game can also be switched from 2D to 3D, either by the players choice or by the game making it change automatically. The game takes place in a new hub. A blue coloured castle, referred to as the Neptune Dimension, commanded by Fawful and Dimentio. To enter levels, Mario must jump into that levels painting, like Super Mario 64 DS but for every mission. Thus their being 140 painting as there is 140 Missions. The game uses the life meter from Super Mario Galaxy. The game also utilizes the Star Spin from the same series.

The player is able to complete the missions on his/her own.
Mulitplayer[]
Via the 3DS Network and the Neptune Connect, the player can join another players game and help the other player complete missions.
Coin Rush[]
The same mode from New Super Mario Bros. 2. The target is the same - collect the most coins.

Dimentio and Fawful | This boss battle is very complex and involves lots of power-up's. The battle begins as normal Mario, and the player must jump on their heads three times. Mario is then shrunk, and the player must enter the electric system and electrocute them three times using the wires. Mario then grows huge and must stomp on them 3 times. Next, Mario gets the Fire Flower and must hit them 3 times with a fireball. Next, Mario gets the Boomerang Flower and must hit them 3 times. This is followed by Mario getting the Super Acorn. Dimentio and Fawful now get into a Koopa Clown Car. Mario must glide from a high vantage point and land on their heads three times. Next, Mario gets the Propeller Mushroom, and must directly hit them on the head three times. Then, Mario gets the Bolt Flower, and must blast them by standing underneath them and summoning a lightning bolt. Then, Mario gets the Swooper Suit and must charge at them and ram them into the electrical railings three times.
