Ethan
A main character of the series HGSS: Johto Adventure, Ethan Goldman (also known as Gold) is a new Pokémon Trainer of the Johto region who left his home of New Bark Town to go on his own Pokémon journey. His quest is to collect the 8 badges of the Johto Pokémon Gyms and then challenge the Johto League. His rival, Silver Cryster, also aims to do the same. Ethan and Lyra Soulstice are best friends.

Cyndaquil is Ethan's Johto starter Pokémon. It was given to him from the famous Pokémon professor Elm. Cyndaquil does any thing it can to make Ethan happy. It has a habit of burning Ethan from the fire spewing out of its back. It currently knows the moves of Pound, SmokeScreen, Flame Wheel, and Flamethrower.
