The Legend of Zelda: Valley of the Flood, previously known as Project Deluge, was a suppossed game for the Nintendo Wii that surfaced on the IGN forums from a "secret interview" with Eiji Aonuma, leaked in 2008. The interview, however, was comfirmed to be fake. Valley of the Flood was intended to evolved around a "steam-punk" oriented environment. It is set between Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker on the Timeline, revealing the events of The Great Flood.

Plot[]

For the extensive plot description, see Extended Cut

The plot is still in the planning stages.

The story of 'Valley of the Flood' is separated into three acts; The Still, The Fall and The Void; named to describe the events of The Great Flood.

Link, the protagonist, is a travelling swordsman. His background and origins are not made clear as he is introduced during one of his current travels. Link later encounters his younger sister, Jena, and their mother, whom they have not seen in awhile. The newly reunited group travels together through the High Commons Sector in anticipation of the 100th Jubilee of Ages in a half-days trip.

The Jubilee of Ages commences the following day, but is interrupted as Hyrule Castle Town is attacked by hoards of monsters and creatures controlled by a 'mysterious' cloaked figure. Link attempts to confront the Princess Zelda on the matter, but is dismissed, which results in his infiltration of Hyrule Castle.

Link encounters Princess Zelda and tries to convince her that he is the 'Hero of Time'. She isn't fully taken in, but believes he is capable of collecting the three Sacred Earth.

Link's quest ensues as he is accompanied by a 'wind sprite' which calls itself Lejv.

After the Sacred Earth has been collected GIANT DROP BEARS START FALLING FROM THE SKY AND WILL CONSUME ALL THE POST-IT NOTES KNOWN TO MAN

Gameplay[]

The Gameplay is still in the planning stages. The game is planned to play on the upcoming Nintendo console, the Wii U.

The relationship between the Wii U Game-Pad and the Television screen is much like in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, with the gameplay on the screen and the menu on the touch pad. Valley of the Flood does not require the Game-Pad as controls have been modified for the Wii U Controller-Pro and can be played with either.

Controls[]

The controls used in Valley of the Flood hones back to the use of Gamecube controls in previous Zelda installments with Motion-Controls being cut-back as a fighting mechanic and now implements 'Recoil Commands' for stylised combat.

The controls are designed so that the game is compatible with either the Wii U Game-Pad or the Controller-Pro.

Fan Development[]

There is now a team as big as one small person with plans to revise and revive the 'Project Deluge' concept. Their aim is to bring 'light' to the game that created the uproar in the Zelda Community. Their current plans are to extablish story, major characters, environment and art direction for Valley of the Flood.
