Weather is a crucial aspect of Fallout 5 influencing how the player performs in combat due to the various and relatively different Weather types about. There are 19 different Weather Types although their likelihood of occurring is not equal and differs between areas, while Clear and Overcast are the most common in any condition the more deadly weather types become more likely in more hostile areas.

Light Rain

Moderate Rain
  • Ballistic Weapons deal 2% less Damage
  • Energy Weapons deal 4% more Damage
  • +1 END
Heavy Rain
  • Ballistic Weapons deal 5% less Damage
  • Energy Weapons deal 8% more Damage
  • +1 END
Storm
  • Ballistic Weapons deal 5% less Damage
  • Energy Weapons deal 10% more Damage
  • +1 END
  • Shock-Augmented Weapons are 15% more likely to cause Paralysis
Hail
  • 0.01% Chance of taking damage every 5 seconds
  • +1 END
  • Cryo-Augmented Weapons are 8% more likely to cause Freeze
Radiation Rain

Radiation Storm

  • Fire-Augmented Weapons are 8% more likely to cause Burn
  • +1 STR
  • +0.05 Damage/s
Blazing Skies
  • Fire-Augmented Weapons are 15% more likely to cause Burn
  • +1 STR
  • +0.1 Damage/s
  • +1 LCK
Light Snow
  • -1 PER when not wearing Goggles
  • Cryo-Augmented Weapons are 10% more likely to cause Freeze
Moderate Snow
  • -1 PER

  • 0.01% chance the player will Freeze every 5 seconds
  • 1% chance the player will Freeze every 5 seconds when not wearing clothing
Heavy Snow
  • -2 PER

  • 0.05% chance the player will Freeze every 5 seconds
