Dread kong is a 20-year-old, large intimidating looking Kong and the first boss faced in the game Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. Dread Kong is the ruler of the Banana Kingdom, which is the first kingdom Donkey Kong ventures through. He is Donkey Kong's self-proclaimed rival and is as strong if not stronger than Donkey Kong himself. He is also not the smartest of any of the kongs but makes up for it in power. His most powerful attack is silver flame making the grey part of his fur into a unblockable flaming attack.
Dread Kong reappears in Monkey Race: Island Adventure, where he is one of the eight playable characters.
