Dr. Stewart is an F-Zero pilot in the F-Zero series. He pilots the Golden Fox.
Dr. Stewart is a brilliant medical physician who is also a natural at mechanics. He entered this prestigious occupation by way of his father, Kevin Stewart, who had participated in illegal underground races his whole life before he eventually went straight and entered the F-Zero. This caused Robert to look up to his father with great pride and aspire to be a racer as well, but his father deterred these dreams, insisting racing was far too dangerous a sport and urged him to take up a medical profession. After Kevin Stewart's undetermined and untimely death, Robert decided to fix up his father's original machine, the Golden Fox, and finally enter the F-Zero Grand Prix circuit.
Dr. Stewart appears as trophy along with his machine, the Golden Fox. In addition, his machine can be seen racing on the Mute City stage.
Dr. Stewart returns once again as a playable character in F-Zero U. Like many other pilots, Dr. Stewart is 10 years older then he was in F-Zero GX, making him 52 years old in this installment.
Dr. Stewart appears in the television series, the Stories of New Tendo City. In the series, he is the city's most well-known doctor, and a very brilliant surgeon, much like his "F-Zero" counterpart. The series also depicts him as mature and level-headed, while also being pompeous, and self-absorbed. In addition, he also considers himself quite the ladies man, something of which his assistant, Nurse Joy doesn't take too kindly to!
