A main gameplay element in Doom Dome Battle is the species of a character. Each species has a special advantage in battle. However there are also characters with two species, and even one with three species. This may be due to them being a half-breed, or because they are a duo character from different species. If this is the case they can select before the battle which advantage they'd like to use. Although it doesn't have much effect on the gameplay itself, the half-breed and duos have a primary and secondary species.
There is a total of 14 species, with three of them only having one playable character within them. The Witch (also called Warlock) species made its first appearance in Doom Dome Battle 2.
An angel, especially according to Abrahamic religions and Zoroastrianism, is a spiritual being superior to humans in power and intelligence. Angels are typically described as benevolent, dreadful, and endowed with wisdom and knowledge of earthly events, but not infallible; for they strive with each other, and God has to make peace between them. Most of them serve either as intermediaries between Heaven and Earth, or as guardian spirits.
They have the ability to restore a bit of their health when succesfully performing combo attacks that are marked as a holy attack. Some angels have more holy attacks than other angels.
Animals are multicellular, eukaryotic organisms of the kingdom Animalia (also called Metazoa). All animals are motile, meaning they can move spontaneously and independently at some point in their lives. Their body plan eventually becomes fixed as they develop, although some undergo a process of metamorphosis later on in their lives. All animals are heterotrophs: they must ingest other organisms or their products for sustenance.
They have the ability to dodge quicker and jump higher than other species. In addition to that they also have the ability to crawl/slide over the ground when crouching, as opposed to other species who cannot move while crouching.

Cosmic entities, also referred to as cosmic beings possess power on a stellar, galactic, universal, or even multiversal level, far beyond those of humans or conventional superheroes, and frequently serve some natural function in the universe.
They have a gravitational pull as their special ability. When they are facing the opponent, they will pull them in closer while facing with their back to them, they will push them away, making it impossible for them to make contact.
A computer program is a collection of instructions that performs a specific task when executed by a computer. A computer requires programs to function, and typically executes the program's instructions in a central processing unit. However in Doom Dome Battle they have been given a physical form in our world.
They can upgrade their defense over the course of time in battle, but on the other hand have not as much health as others.
A demon is a supernatural, often malevolent being prevalent in religion, occultism, literature, fiction, mythology and folklore. In Ancient Near Eastern religions as well as in the Abrahamic traditions, including ancient and medieval Christian demonology, a demon is considered an unclean spirit, a fallen angel, or a spirit of unknown type which may cause demonic possession, calling for an exorcism. In Western occultism and Renaissance magic, which grew out of an amalgamation of Greco-Roman magic, Jewish Aggadah and Christian demonology, a demon is believed to be a spiritual entity that may be conjured and controlled.
They have the ability to have a higher chance of inflicting a critical hit which results in an increased amount of damage at the end of a combo. This only happens on at a 1/5 chance with other species while it has a 3.5/5 chance with demons.
Extraterrestrial life,[n 1] also called alien life (or, if it is a sentient or relatively complex individual, an "extraterrestrial" or "alien"), is life that does not originate from Earth. These as-yet-hypothetical life forms may range from simple bacteria-like organisms to beings with civilizations far more advanced than humanity. Although many scientists expect extraterrestrial life to exist, there is no unambiguous evidence for its existence so far. The science of extraterrestrial life is known as exobiology.
Extraterrestrials have the ability to take zero damage when they are shielding in contrary to other species who do take a slight amount of damage when hit. Their shields also last forever and cannot be broken.

In folklore and mythology, a ghost (sometimes known as a spectre or specter, phantom, apparition, spirit, spook, or haunt) is the soul or spirit of a dead person or animal that can appear to the living. Descriptions of ghosts vary widely from an invisible presence to translucent or barely visible wispy shapes, to realistic, lifelike visions. The belief in the existence of an afterlife, as well as manifestations of the spirits of the dead is widespread, dating back to animism or ancestor worship in pre-literate cultures. Certain religious practices—funeral rites, exorcisms, and some practices of spiritualism and ritual magic—are specifically designed to rest the spirits of the dead. Ghosts are generally described as solitary, human-like essences that haunt particular locations, objects, or people they were associated with in life, though stories of ghostly armies and the ghosts of animals rather than humans have also been recounted.
Ghosts have the ability to break free from combo chains. When an opponent is on their way to do a successful combo they can dodge and break free from said combo.

Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens) are the only extant members of Hominina clade (or human clade), a branch of the taxonomical tribe Hominini belonging to the family of great apes. They are characterized by erect posture and bipedal locomotion; manual dexterity and increased tool use, compared to other animals; and a general trend toward larger, more complex brains and societies.
Humans have the ability to fill up their Doom Attack meter much quicker than other species, allowing them to perform their Doom Attack more times to cause more damage, as humans could be considered the weakest.
In biology and especially genetics, a mutant is an organism or a new genetic character arising or resulting from an instance of mutation, which is a base-pair sequence change within the DNA of a gene or chromosome of an organism. The natural occurrence of genetic mutations is integral to the process of evolution. The study of mutants is an integral part of biology; by understanding the effect that a mutation in a gene has, it is possible to establish the normal function of that gene.
Mutants have to ability to always have 1 hp left after they receive damage from an attack which actually should KO them. This also counts for Doom Attacks.

Death, also known as the Grim Reaper, is a common element in culture and history. As a personified force it has been imagined in many different ways. In some mythologies, the Grim Reaper causes the victim's death by coming to collect him. In turn, people in some stories try to hold on to life by avoiding Death's visit, or by fending Death off with bribery or tricks. Other beliefs hold that the Spectre of Death is only a psychopomp, serving to sever the last ties between the soul and the body, and to guide the deceased to the afterlife, without having any control over when or how the victim dies. In many mythologies, Death is personified in male form, while in others, Death is perceived as female.
Reapers have the ability to cause more damage depending on how low their health is. The lower their health, the more damage they do.
A robot is a machine—especially one programmable by a computer—capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically. Robots can be guided by an external control device or the control may be embedded within. Robots may be constructed to take on human form but most robots are machines designed to perform a task with no regard to how they look. Robots can be autonomous or semi-autonomous and range from humanoids to industrial robots, medical operating robots, patent assist robots, dog therapy robots, collectively programmed swarm robots, UAV drones, and even microscopic nano robots. By mimicking a lifelike appearance or automating movements, a robot may convey a sense of intelligence or thought of its own.
Robots have the ability to reduce the damage received from holy attacks (angels) and demonic attacks (demons).

A vampire is a being from folklore who subsists by feeding on the life essence (generally in the form of blood) of the living. In European folklore, vampires were undead beings that often visited loved ones and caused mischief or deaths in the neighborhoods they inhabited when they were alive. They wore shrouds and were often described as bloated and of ruddy or dark countenance, markedly different from today's gaunt, pale vampire which dates from the early 19th century. Although vampiric entities have been recorded in most cultures, the term vampire was not popularized in the West until the early 18th century, after an influx of vampire superstition into Western Europe from areas where vampire legends were frequent, such as the Balkans and Eastern Europe. This increased level of vampire superstition in Europe led to mass hysteria and in some cases resulted in corpses actually being staked and people being accused of vampirism.
Vampires have the ability to resist negative statuses like burning, paralyze and poison. This also is active when Blubble as activated as a support.
Witchcraft (also called witchery or spellcraft) broadly means the practice of, and belief in, magical skills and abilities that are able to be exercised by individuals and certain social groups. Witchcraft is a complex concept that varies culturally and societally; therefore, it is difficult to define with precision and cross-cultural assumptions about the meaning or significance of the term should be applied with caution. Witchcraft often occupies a religious, divinatory or medicinal role, and is often present within societies and groups whose cultural framework includes a magical world view. Although witchcraft can often share common ground with related concepts such as sorcery, the paranormal, magic, superstition, necromancy, possession, shamanism, healing, spiritualism, nature worship and the occult, it is usually seen as distinct from these when examined by sociologists and anthropologists.
Witches have the ability to reflect projectiles if they use their shield instead of just deflecting it like all the other species.
The Unknown species are those who cannot be identified or categorized in any of the existing species. They remain a mystery to everyone of what they exactly are.
As the Unknown species are unidentified they have no special ability and instead can assume the ability of any other species with the exception for Cosmic Entity and Reaper.
