Donkey Kong returns yet again to the Super Smash Bros. franchise in Super Smash Bros 5. However he has been buffed a lot since his last appearance. His move set has little differences from SSB4 though. Aesthetically he looks closer to his look in Tropical Freeze.
Changes from SSB4
Donkey Kong's speed has been increased
His dash attack now does more damage and does more knockback
His smash attacks now have more knockback
Specials and Final Smash
DK charges up a very powerful punch which can be used by pressing the special button again.
Storm Punch - DK charges up a strong punch which does less damage but creates a whirlwind which pushes opponents away.
Donkey Kong uses a powerful headbutt which makes opponents get stuck in the ground.
Stubborn Headbutt - A headbutt which has a longer startup time and does more damage. While charging the move DK resists knockback but still takes damage.
Donkey Kong spins with his arms stretched out and ascends upward.
Tornado Kong- Donkey gets enveloped in a tornado which propels him upward as he spins. The attack does less damage but increases the height he goes to.
Donkey Kong Slaps his hands on the ground propelling opponents upwards with it small shockwaves.
Mega Kong Slap - DK does one incredibly powerful ground slap which creates huge shockwaves. The move has a slightly longer startup but does more damage and knockback.
Donkey Kong gets out his bongo's and creates powerful sound waves. These can be strengthened by pushing buttons to the timing of the beat of the song played in the background.
