Devil System 64 is a console that was released by Deviltendo on December 21st 2013. It is 64-bit, and is based on the Nintendo 64's architecture. The launch titles will be Pikmin X Chibi-Robo (which has been cancelled), Mario: The Last Koopa, Donkey Kong Super Blast, Kirby's Alien Invasion, and The Legend Of Zelda: The Missing Link. It relies on cartridges rather than discs; however, there will be an add-on for the Devil System 64 called the Devil System 64 DVD, which uses DVDs to provide better graphics and sound to games. It also puts the console's hardware up to standards with the original Xbox, released in 2001.
Reviews were mixed. Critics praised the upcoming selection of games, but criticized the dated hardware and the unoriginality. The company Ninesoft (known for buying abandoned games) have named it as one of the worst consoles of all time.
When it was available for preordering, there was a total of 1.5 million preorders. However, since release only 4 million Devil System 64s have been sold, including preorders. Plans to discontinue the Devil System 64 are in consideration. If it is discontinued, then Deviltendo will hire two more people, whose names are unknown.
