The Nintendo DS Tilt is an upcoming updated version of the immensely popular Nintendo DS. Like the name suggests, it incorporates new turning and tilting controls via a built in gyroscope sensor at the base. It can still play normal DS Hardware and can also play Gameboy Advance games. It was released in Japan on 23 October 2008 and in Europe and North America on 15 March 2009.
The idea for the console was conceived after the release of the DS Lite, when somebody in the Nintendo offices decided that the DS needed a new unique feature. The gyroscope was implemented, and was announced at F3 2008. It was finally released on 15 March 2009.
