|Appearances in SSB games||Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS|
Cloud makes his return in Ultra Smash Bros. IV after SSB for Wii U/3DS as a DLC veteran. He's been confirmed as the 4rth DLC character at the first wave of DLC's alongside with Corrin and Bayonetta. He mainly is a third party character from Square Enix company joined with Black Mage who shares the same series Final Fantasy. He's also part of the 3rd party group such as Namco's Pac-Man, Capcom's Mega Man and Ryu, Konami's Bomberman (early Hudson Soft) and Snake, Taito's Bub, Ubisoft's Rayman and SEGA's Sonic and Bayonetta.
Cloud's tier list place ranked in the 6th place (S) behind Bayonetta and after Yoshi for his strong knockback in his move, his impressive movement speed and his long range attacks, which it makes an excellent character to play in the tournaments and it makes the second best downloadable third party character in the game behind Bayonetta. He mantains his position as a top tier character since Smash 4.
Thanks to his Limit Charge, it is the most effective way to finish opponents during a battle. He's also a great character to perform meteor smashes to the characters off the stage alongside with Ganondorf and Donkey Kong due to his moveset that most of his aerials has ability to spike.
Desprise his recovery, Cloud can't only reach vertically at highest possible than horizontally. Also his Limit Charge is more longer to charge than in the previous game because for his extreme knockback and speed, nerfing his neutral game. He also only gains his Limit Break by charging and not by being attacking by his opponent. However, Cloud's matchup overall seems to be excellent.
