The Clone Melon is a fruit that Yoshi can eat that will allow him to create miniature clones of himself, not unlike the Pal Pill in Super Paper Mario.
Function[]
Once consumed, Yoshi will become Clone Yoshi, a normal Yoshi surrounded by six smaller red Yoshi clones. Clone Yoshi can control these clones, and the clones can protect Clone Yoshi. Once all the clones are defeated, Clone Yoshi reverts to regular Yoshi. If Yoshi arrives the goal the clones will grow up and turn into normal Red Yoshis.

Fantendo Smash Bros. Shattered[]
Oddly enough, the Clone Melon first appears in Fantendo Smash Bros. as a item. When used, it creates a set of red colored clones that can assist the player.
Fantendo Kart (reboot)[]
Clone Melons reappear in Fantendo Kart with a unknown function, although one would assume it is similar to how it works in Shattered.
