Chocola is a black chao and the sibling of Cheese. He was created as a filler character for Sonic Heroes.

Chocola marks the first, and so far only, time that politics is featured in any Sonic game; Cheese and Chocola being different colours and still being best friends and siblings is a direct attack on negrophobia.

• It is this movement that coerced Mondelēz International to create a chocolate flavoured Philadelphia cream cheese.
