Caterpie is a Bug-type Pokémon species that resembles a green caterpillar. At level 7, it will evolve into a Metapod and at level 10, the Metapod will evolve into a Butterfree. It is a Generation I Pokémon.

They possess a Y-shaped orange antennae on their heads that will emit a terrible stench if the Caterpie is threatened or frightened. Single yellow rings can be seen going down the length of its body. They also have yellow eyes, but with a very large black pupil on each one.
