Butterfree is a dual Bug/Flying type Pokémon species that greatly resembles a butterfly. If a Butterfree flaps its wings hard enough, the wings will begin releasing toxic dust. Butterfree is the final evolution of Caterpie and evolves from Metapod. It was introduced in Generation I, and debuted in the Game BoyPokémon originals Pokémon Red & Blue.
Butterfree are pale blue, have 4 legs, and are incredibly large (3 feet tall/1.1 meters), unlike real-life butterflies. Their eyes are large and red, and their wings are composed of scales.
Butterfree is a Poké-Ball Pokémon in Super Smash Stadium. When released, it uses Poison Powder, Stun Spore, or Sleep Powder, inflicting the move's respective status condition on all opponents within its range. G-Max Butterfree has double range.
All canon Pokémon are available in Tropes vs. Women in Pokémon Training, including Butterfree. In this game, Butterfree has a Mega Evolution, achieved using a Butterfrite. Its typing changes to Bug/Psychic, and its ability changes to Pollen Storm.
Its wings are said to have highly toxic spores on them. Despite this, it's one of the most hunted Pokémon in existence, to the point that it's been declared an endangered species in some regions outside of Sanclairia.
Sick and tired of being easy prey for a Beedrill, this Butterfree evolved to take its colonies back. This may explain why their numbers are higher in Sanclairia compared to the rest of the world.
