The king's return was confirmed in the first reveal trailer of the game, showing him fighting against Mario and Sega's Sonic The Hedgehog. Like with the other veterans, his moveset hasn't changed much except having a few new moves, and updated movements and animations to match the more cartoony nature of the game.
