Final Smash Treble Boost

Bass (フォルテ, Forte) appears as a newcomer in Super Smash Bros. V as a paid DLC Character. He was revealed and announced on December 11, 2019 along with the returning Megaman.

“Bass is a Robot Master created by Dr. Wily to imitate Mega Man's design, along with Treble, an imitation of Rush's design. He was created based on a research conducted on Mega Man with the intention of surpassing his power sometime during or before the events of Mega Man 6, and made his debut in Mega Man 7. Bass is the prominent anti-hero of the Mega Man classic series, and his goal is to become the most powerful robot in existence. Although Bass and Mega Man are rivals, at times they team up to take down mutual enemies of the two. Despite being created by Dr. Wily, Bass frequently rebels against his creator, usually for his own purposes.”

He is confirmed to have no alternate costume.

<p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.7999999999999998;margin-top:4pt;margin-bottom:6pt;">Bass plays quite similarly to Megaman. He has projectile based neutral, forward tilt, and neutral aerial attacks. He can air dash by double tapping forward on the main stick and can dash attack in the air. His dash speed is quite quick as well. His long and close range game is exceptional thanks to his powerful, yet no ranged attacks and his good projectiles. His moves also cover a lot of area. A thing about Bass is just like Megaman, rush-down characters usually have no trouble getting to him. His projectiles, of course, can be reflected and used against him. He also has quite the ending lag on some key moves, special moves especially. He’s a character that is meant to be played a bit more aggressively than Megaman due to his quicker movement and his very useful air dash.

Neutral Combo
Dash Attack 11% Bass boost forward with his buster arm.
Forward Tilt Skull Shot 3.2%, 2% (cannon) Bass fires purple, skull-shaped orbs similarly to Megaman’s Neutral Attack and Forward tilt. His, however, travel slower and deal more damage. It can be tilted up and down.
Up Tilt 9% Bass swings his buster arm up in a forward to up arc. Good for juggles.
Down Tilt 9% (clean), 6% (late) Bass slides on the ground very similarly to Megaman.
Forward Smash Tengu Blade 16% Bass uses Tengu Blade to slash the opponent. Very, very powerful.
Up Smash 15% Bass performs a somersault kick.
Down Smash Solar Blaze 15% (clean)/12% (late) (each) Bass shoots a flame down in front of him that shoots both sides.

Aerial Attacks

Forward Aerial 9% Bass kicks forward as his foot is covered in a green aura.
Back Aerial Wheel Cutter 2% (each hit) Bass shoots a spiky wheel back that rolls on the ground attack multiple times.
Up Aerial 20% (clean), 5% (split (each)) Bass shoots a skull shot up that splits into 5 directions.
Down Aerial Chill Spike 11%, 14% 9(sweetspot) Bass shoots a Chill Spike downwards which hits opponents doing high damage. If sweetspotted it freezes the opponent WHILE initiating a meteor smash.

Grabs and Throws

Forward Throw 8% Bass throws the opponent forward.
Back Throw 3%, 6% (kick) Bass tosses the opponent and kicks them behind him.
Up Throw 7% Bass throws the opponent up
Down Throw 5%, 3% (pellet) Bass slams the opponent down then shoots a pellet at them as they bounce off.

Special Attacks

Name Damage Description
Neutral Special Triple Blade 12% Bass fires three blades that travel upwards diagonally, straight forward, and downwards diagonally, respectively. The blades make do of shields.
Alternate 1 Charge Shot 6% (min), 18% (max) Bass charges a shot with his buster. He can charge it while moving but he can’t dash. It shoots a green blast forward.

Side Special Spread Drill Single: 15%, Split (each): 10% Bass fires a drill forward which can be split into two drills by hitting side B as it’s out. One drill has much more knockback and kill power than a split drill. If used at point blank range it works just like a forward smash and it’s very powerful (Single).
Alternate 1 Quad Spread Drill Split (each): 10%, Split into 4 (each): 5% A drill split into 2 is always fired which can split into 4 smaller and weaker drills. Good for taking up a lot of area and able to pressure (arguably) much better than the default Spread Drill.

Up Special Super Bass: Rocket Punch 14% Bass fuses with Treble and boosts upwards with Blast punch that deals heavy damage and knockback.
Alternate 1 Super Bass: Fist Cutter 10% More range than Rocket Punch but weaker, and aesthetically, the punch doesn’t produce an explosion effect but more of a wind effect.

Down Special Treble Shots: 8%, Charged Shot: 16% Bass summons Treble who sits stationary, occasionally moving around, either firing regular size shots , or a full-charged shot, at opponents, each having nice stun and knockback. Treble has 12 HP, and disappears when damaged that much.
Alternate 1 Treble Charge 13% Bass summons Treble which moves around muchh more often using a charge attack against opponents as it’s shrouded in a Green aura. Treble has 10 HP, and disappears when damaged that much.
Alternate 2 - - -
Final Smash Treble Boost Fist Attacks: 13% (each), Tackle: 22% Bass summons Treble and they both fuse. In this form, Bass can fly around freely, and attacking with powerful fist pellet attacks (3 at a time). If Side+B is inputted, He performs a powerful tackle attack that works like a smash attack, but more powerful.
