Animal Crossing is an American/Australian live-action/GCI musical comedy fantasy film adapted from Nintendo’s video game series of the same name. It’s also the second film based on game series behind the 2006 anime film Dōbutsu no Mori. The film is produced by Nintendo of America, Nintendo Australia, Village Roadshow Pictures, New Line Cinema, Reel FX (for CGI animal characters) and distributed by Warner Bros. It also features Jim Carrey, Kristen Schaal, Gilbert Gottfried, Ben Stiller, George Benson, Wayne Knight, Zach Braff, and Bill Hader.


The film follows Joseph “Joey” Corel Smith (played by Jim Carrey), a guy who got fired from the insurance company he worked and decided take his family to move to the village of Animal Crossing, where is populated by the small citizens of anthropomorphic animals and becomes a mayor for the town for his new job.
