Aereus (Aereian: Ayruth) (demonym: Aereian) is a country located in northwestern Africa, around the location of real-life Western Sahara. It is the setting of the Strafe series in the Fantendoverse TauBoundless Fantendoverse.
History[]
In the 1860s and 1870s, Austria-Hungary established several colonies on the Aereian coast, including Elaiyun, Neu Zagreb (now Nezaghreb), Tarfaya, and Nuadhibu. At the Berlin Conference, Austria-Hungary was awarded a large slice of northern Africa, comprising the modern territory of Aereus. Varios settlements were made further inland in the 1890s and 1900s, such as Noah, Gwelmim, and Zweyrat. After Austria-Hungary's defeat and dissolution, the colony of Aereus was transferred to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
In 1928, Aereian Berbers and Arabs rebelled against the weak Yugoslav colonial government in Elaiyun and succeeded. The Kingdom of Aereus was founded on 20 January 1929, with its capital in Noah.
